Painted Mixed Media Gratitude Trees
**Join Us for a Gratitude Tree Children’s Workshop!**
🌳🎨 **What’s in Store:** 🎨🌳
At our children’s workshop, each family of children will collaborate to create a unique masterpiece:
1. **Painting the Canvas Background:** Young artists will add their own creative strokes to the canvas background, setting the stage for the artwork.
2. **Crafting the Tree Trunk:** Children will work on painting segments of the tree, which will then be joined as one trunk onto the canvas background.
3. **Shimmering Leaves:** Metallic watercolors (love working with these! so much fun!) will be used to paint the leaves, giving them a touch of fall colors that seem to shimmer with the changing season.
4. **Expressing Gratitude:** Children get to express their appreciation by writing down what they’re grateful for and what they wish to have more of in their lives. They will take home their painted leaves to share and create a whole family Gratitude Tree, celebrating thankfulness.
📖 **Literary Inspiration:** Our workshop is inspired by “Thanks for Thanksgiving” by Julie Markes, a heartwarming story that reminds us of the importance of gratitude and coming together.
This children’s workshop is not just about art; it’s about fostering a sense of thankfulness and unity among young artists. It’s an opportunity for children to express their feelings and hopes through art and collaborate with their peers.

This workshop will be taking place on Tuesday this week and at a special earlier time from 1:30-3:00.
Hey, young artists! Get ready for an upcoming workshop that’s not just one, but TWO amazing projects in one! We’ll kick off the artistic journey by reading the delightful stories of “Run, Turkey, Run” by Diane Mayr and “Turkey Trouble” by Wendi Silvano.
After the laughter and inspiration from our turkey tales, it’s time to have some feathery fun! Using foam and vibrant acrylic metallic paint, we’ll craft magnificent turkey feathers that shimmer with creativity. Picture feathers that sparkle and shine, making your turkey truly stand out!
And if time permits after completing our shimmery, colorful turkeys, we’ll dive into an extra fun project: finding ways to disguise some turkeys to help them from becoming Thanksgiving dinner! Imagine giving a turkey a superhero cape, a wild costume, or even dressing them up as a Christmas tree – let your imagination run wild!

Abstract Watercolor Statement Art
Join us for an upcoming art workshop where young minds will embark on a creative journey inspired by Patrick McDonnell’s “Art.” We’ll explore the world of abstract expression, using crayons and watercolors to craft stunning designs on poster boards.
In this workshop, children aged 6-12 will unleash their artistic flair with crayons, creating intricate patterns. The magic happens when they apply watercolors, achieving a captivating crayon resist effect. Adding an extra layer of creativity, we’ll introduce watercolor paints, transforming their artwork into a unique masterpiece.
As the colors blend and dance on the paper, each child will have the chance to showcase their uniqueness. After the artwork dries, they’ll personalize it by adding a photo of themselves and statements reflecting who they are and what brings them joy.

Holiday Starry Art
Get ready for some holiday sparkle!
Our literary inspiration will be the book, “Brownie Groundhog and the Wintry Surprise” by Susan Blackaby. In this workshop, young artists will transform paper mache stars into dazzling ornaments, perfect for adding a bright and sparkly touch to the season. Participants will have the opportunity to craft one paper mache star with colorful tissue paper, radiating with the brilliance of the holidays. Another star will be adorned with white paint and glitter, creating a shimmering masterpiece that captures the joy and excitement of the season. Children will also get the chance to craft stars from air-dry clay, imprinting them with holiday words or stamping holiday designs to fashion unique ornaments.
This workshop isn’t just about crafting; it’s a celebration of creativity and self-discovery during this special time of the year. Gingerbread Holiday Fun!

Hey there, creative families! Get ready for a super fun time at our upcoming workshop, “Gingerbread Fun”!
What’s on the Menu:
We’re cooking up a storm of creativity inspired by the book “Gingerbread Baby” by Jan Brett. Kids aged 6-12 are in for a treat as we explore metallic watercolors to create their own cool gingerbread houses. And we have lots of other fun gingerbread activities planned, too!
We’re not just about painting; we’re all about sparking wonder and showing your child that they can do anything they set their minds to.
